今回は、「Bad Day/Daniel Powter」を和訳していきたいと思います。

「Bad Day」はカナダ人シンガーDaniel Powterによって2002年にレコードされ、2005年にヨーロッパでリリースされました。公式リリースの前に、2004年クリスマスにフランスでコカ・コーラのCMとして起用されたみたいです。その後アメリカでリリースされ、 Billboard Hot 100, Pop 100, Adult Top 40, Adult Contemporaryで1位を取っています。

注釈の説明

*¹　stand in the lineを「コーヒーの列に並ぶ」と訳したのは、次の分でwith the coffee to go「コーヒーを持っていく」という歌詞を参照した

*²　the cameraというのは、この曲は、歌手として芽が出なかった過去の自分に向けて書いたものらしく、今の自分をcamera「カメラ」として過去の自分を見つめているという解釈をした
